The JBiT Ranch** is an instructional riding facility geared towards pleasure riding rather than competition.  Our program's primary goal is SAFETY and learning to enjoy horses in a fun, comprehensive horsemanship program. Our program allows students to build upon skills and progress at their own pace.  This program provides a solid foundation including learning to handle the horse from the ground, properly groom and tack the horse, and the basics of balanced seat riding in either the English or Western disciplines.   We have brought many students through our program with the ultimate goal of owning their own horse and have taught them all aspects surrounding ownership as well as helped them to find an appropriate first horse.   Many have remained and board their new friend here with us.

The JBiT Ranch offers private lessons, semi-private, and group lessons and has separate programs available for both children and adults.   A variety of experienced and/or certified instructors are available to help you reach your personal riding goals.  

 

Meet our instructors:  

 

Leslie Woods-Hulse.  Leslie has been with JBiT since July 2004.  Leslie is British Horse Society Certified and has a background which includes eventing and training with Bertie Hill in England.  Leslie provides English and balanced seat training, as well as western basics.  Leslie also enjoys pleasure and trail riding.

 

 Brittany Smith.  Brittany has been with JBiT since October 2005.  Brittany is an ARIA (American Riding Instructors Association) certified Level 1 Western Pleasure trainer.   Brittany enjoys showing, barrel racing, and trail pleasure riding.  

 

We are blessed to have these two well qualified, bright and friendly instructors as part of our training team at JBiT.

        Riding lessons are held weekly Tues-Sunday.  The ranch is closed on Monday.

Due to our current waiting list and design of our comprehensive riding program, we do require a weekly commitment for one month, two months or a calendar quarter. Intermittent or every other week is not available.

Required Riding Attire:  Boots with a heel are required. Riding helmets are required for all riders under age 18, but are strongly recommended for adults as well.  Jeans or jodhpurs are best for riding. The JBiT Ranch is unique in that we also offer Training lessons to help our students learn to ride confidently outside of the riding ring (ages 10 and above with 4-6 months of riding in our program).  Our students learn safety and confidence out on the trail.  An individual's readiness for trail lessons is determined solely at the discretion of the instructor.
